STARS IN THEIR EYELETS
The star spangled trainer trend, lo or hi, definitely continues. You'll see them all over Instagram - favoured by influencers teamed with long dresses, hi hemmed jeans and maxi skirts.
The most popular seems to be Golden Goose Deluxe Brand (GGDB). Granted, these are gorgeous but also hugely expensive. Although that doesn't seem to put people off as the newly released Hi Star with 24 carat gold detailing has already sold out even though they were only released online and in stores on Feb 23!!!! They are made in a distressed style which is definitely my thing and come in different styles, including Mid, Francy, Superstar, Slides - and you can get them in different guises, be that velvet, glitter, leopard print, bejewelled and fringed. The variety is endless but at over £300 a pop, you have to be certain of your favourite!! I have a couple of pairs but I will always buy mine pre-owned. Vestiaire Collective has new ones popping up almost daily, so that's a great place to start ...........
That's not to say that GGDB are the only ones out there adorning themselves with stars. With that in mind I've put together this blog post of my star finds, across the price spectrum. So if your budget doesn't quite stretch to a brand new pair of Prada or St Laurent footwear (I know mine certainly doesn't), there should be something to suit all budgets below ......
These delights are from the 'Glitter Gutter' collab between Converse and JW Anderson. You can still get some online (if you're lucky) but the second lot just dropped on Friday (2 March). This second run is a lot less muted than the one above, in sand and denim colours.
