GET SHIRTY!!

Shirt dress, wrap dress, wrap dress, shirt dress - I couldn't decide what my next blog post was to be on out of the two. I think shirt dresses are more flattering to the masses. Wrap dresses have a habit of sitting on the midline and also coming undone if just fastened by a flimsy belt. I'm not ruling them out completely and that's not to say they won't be featuring on my site at a later date but today I'm focusing on the buttoned variety.

Shirt dresses can come in many forms. Safari, utility, denim, oversized, satin, long and short among others. They can be used in summer as a great cover up after a long day at the beach or the pool, or in winter layered with a polo-neck or teamed with a legging or faux leather pant. It came as no surprise that most of the dresses I looked at online had been styled with a flat or a trainer. These shirt dresses totally deserve pairing with one of these forms of footwear so as to steer away from the 'off to a wedding look'. It's my preferred way of wearing any dress but each to their own, of course!!

The high street never fails to impress and there's loads of different versions on offer there. Debenhams has had a bad rap in the last couple of weeks but their stand out dress from Studio by Preen should keep the store standing all on it's own as it's a total winner (see below).

My definition of a shirt dress is a dress (long or short) with buttons down the front so that's what I give you below but in many different guises.
